What is CanesOral®?
CanesOral®
CanesOral® is an effective, clinically proven single-dose oral treatment, available without a prescription. Its active ingredient, fluconazole 150 mg, will work systemically to stop the growth of Candida albicans that may be responsible for vaginal yeast infections. CanesOral® relieves itching, burning, and discharge associated with vaginal yeast infections. Symptom relief usually begins within 24 hours. CanesOral® is available in single pill and Combi-Pak formats from the makers of Canesten®.
CanesOral® Combi-Pak
Since CanesOral® takes several days to cure your yeast infection internally, the CanesOral® Combi-Pak contains two products: the CanesOral® pill, described just above, and also an external cream that can be applied to the irritated area. Its active ingredient, clotrimazole, will help relieve irritating external symptoms while the CanesOral® pill works internally to eliminate the vaginal yeast infection (VYI) itself.
Instructions
How to take CanesOral® (adults and children 12 years old and over)
Take CanesOral® by mouth as a one-time-only dose, with or without food, or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. DO NOT take more than one dose for this infection. If your symptoms have not improved within 3 days and disappeared in 7 days, contact your doctor.
Your yeast infection will not be cured immediately
Although it is a single dose, CanesOral® therapy does not cure the infection in just one day: the medication remains active in your body for several days. Most patients can expect to see symptom relief within 24 hours. As CanesOral® works to cure the infection, your symptoms will eventually disappear. Canesten® external cream, available in the Combi-Pak or separately as a refill, can be used to soothe symptoms in the meantime.
Overdose
In case of accidental overdose with CanesOral®, call a doctor or poison control centre immediately, even if there are no symptoms.
How to use Canesten® external cream
Squeeze a small amount of cream onto your finger and gently spread over the irritated vaginal area. Use once or twice per day, only when external symptoms are present, to a maximum of 7 days.
